"We were poor. They were better than us, plus they had a bit more desire, which was disappointing," the Fulham boss said after the 2-0 defeat at the Cottage.
"They wanted to win it and we just looked like we turned up and thought we were going to win because we won on Saturday - but it just doesn't work like that.
"We were the underdogs last season, now there is a bigger expectancy. People say Fulham are unbeaten so there are higher expectations, but once we start thinking we are a decent team and the results are going to happen, then we lose.
"It's complacency, it's a simple as that. I should take some responsibility-because I tried to shake things up at half-time but some of my players need to take responsibility too and they will do."
