"I was disappointed to lose in the way that we did because you don't need to make things easy for a team with players of the quality that Arsenal have, but we managed to do that for both of their goals.
"I must say though, that I saw a lot more positive things than I did when we played against Charlton. We showed more desire and made Arsenal look uncomfortable at times."
The defeat at Highbury left Fulham in 15th place in the Premier League table and Coleman is looking for a quick response from the side in the home game against Birmingham City on Tuesday.
"The next few games are crucial for us as we are playing teams down in the lower regions of the premiership and we especially need a good result against Birmingham," he said.
"Things are going to be tough but I fully expect my players to respond."
