"Scoring goals is what Andy does best. His all-round play today was very good. He's relishing being captain and he's taking the responsibility very well," Coleman said after the game at Craven Cottage.
"I'm pleased for him because obviously with the controversy over the sending off at West Brom it's been tough. He's come back, played 90 minutes, scored a goal and was outstanding."
"I think we needed that game today. We were disappointed about the Villa result and we had a difficult game in Birmingham and we nicked it and had a bit of luck.
"Today wasn't about luck. We played better than Tottenham and we deserved the three points.
"I can't point any fingers when we put in performances like that."
