The Cottager's went into the game without regular strikers Barry Hayles, Facundo Sava, Louis Saha and Steve Marlet, but won thanks to a goal from defender Martin Djetou - his first of the season.

"We were in a difficult position with our strikers, but Malbranque was good and Boa Morte played a great game," said Damiano.

"We played with Malbranque a bit deeper and he played the ball into gaps for Boa Morte. We had great spirit and great capacity to build attacks and take the initiative.

"It was a great win with fantastic attitude and great quality. And we were unlucky in attack as we hit the bar twice."
