Davies is hoping that his injury problems are now a thing of the past.
The Welshman went under the knife towards the end of last season, making it difficult for him to start games so far this season.
But Davies could be in the squad that faces Birmingham on Saturday and if he gets a chance to play he is determined to make the most of it.
He told the Evening Standard: "I'm going to have to hit the ground running if I get my chance.
"It's been a frustrating six or seven months but looking at the positives, I had a three-or four-year spell of being injury free when I hardly missed a game.
"Maybe after this I can go another three or four years injury free."
