Jason Euell could be on the way from the Valley to Craven Cottage.
The player admits he is "looking for a fresh start at a new club", which has fuelled speculation that he could move to Fulham.
The 28-year-old began his career in style at the Valley, becoming the Addicks' record signing when he joined for £4.75m in the summer of 2001, and going on to score 13 goals in his first season.
Since then the Jamaican star has since fallen out of favour with Alan Curbishley and he hasn't made a first team start in this calendar year.
Clearly it's time Euell moved on, but the questions are where to and how much?
Fulham have done deals with Charlton within the last year, Claus Jensen springs to mind.
Euell will probably cost at least £2m.
But the striker hasn't ruled out remaining at the Valley. He said: "We've got talks coming up to try and get things sorted out.
"At the moment I'm looking for a fresh start at a new club, but if I end up staying at Charlton I will give my best for them next season," he told the South London Press.
"It's up in the air at the moment because last season was a non-existent one for me - I'm not prepared for another season like that.
"Because of that, I have to look at all my options.
"But things need to be sorted out within the next couple of weeks so that me and Charlton know where we stand."
It's thought that Charlton will ensure all their "four or five" transfer targets have been captured before allowing Euell to leave.
