"We're playing a very much in-form team on Saturday," Hodgson told the club's official website ahead o the tie at The Liberty Stadium this weekend.
"They're a team that's done very well and they deservedly won their last away game against a Premier League team, Portsmouth.
"They've done ever so well since then and are just outside the play-off places in the Championship so we know it's going to be a tough game and we have great respect for the opposition.
"We're aware of the task ahead of us and we'll do the only thing in our power to do, which is to work hard and play well.
"We'll give it our best shot as we want to stay in this competition."
