"My major concern is to analyse fully and work hard with this group of players, while being fully aware that the transfer window is open for players who could make us better," he has said.
"The thing I would like to avoid is desperately going out and making wholesale changes and then finding that the players we have brought into the club are not better than the ones who were here.
"It is important first of all that we work on the group of players that we have got here, to encourage these players to believe in themselves and to get out of the situation we find ourselves in.
"But the transfer window is an important time of the year and if the right type of players come along to help us, not just in the short term but the long term, I know I have the support of the board to move into that market."
