Jol Tells Ajax He Wants Fulham Job

The London Evening Standard report that Jol has told Ajax that he wants to become the new manager at Craven Cottage.

On a day of claim and counterclaim, Fulham hoped to have moved one step closer to securing the successor to Roy Hodgson, who joined Liverpool at the start of this month.

But Ajax were playing hard ball this afternoon as they refused to meet Fulham chief executive Alistair Mackintosh, who was in Amsterdam to discuss possible compensation figures between the two clubs.

Jol had indicated since the weekend that he wanted to come back to manage in England, where he was in charge of Tottenham Hotspur from 2004-07.
