Pearce rejects move

Norwich boss Nigel Worhtington admits he was on the verge of sealing a season-long loan deal for an experienced Premiership defender, but declined to name the player.

The defender in question baulked at the move at the eleventh hour citing "family reasons" as the cause of his change of heart.

The mystery player is widely thought to be Pearce, though that information has not yet been officially confirmed.
