Robbie Savage inspired Birmingham City to their fourth win in a row as they beat sorry Fulham 3-2 at Craven Cottage.
Savage, was being linked with a move to Blackburn Rovers, showed just why Birmingham should move heaven and earth to keep him.
He was inspirational all afternoon, had a hand in his sides opening two goals and then rounded it off with a stunning strike of his own.
It was a miserable day for Fulham who saw Sylvain Legwinski equalise Emile Heskey's opening goal only to fall to strikes from Darren Carter and Savage.
Tomasz Radzinski did manage a last-minute consolation for the home side but they were still booed off and now face a relegation battle with six-pointers against Crystal Palace and Southampton next on the agenda.
Birmingham thoroughly deserved their win and took the lead after 24 minutes when Savage won possession and found Heskey at the edge of the box.
The striker played a neat one-two with Clinton Morrison before smashing home a left-foot shot from just inside the area.
Fulham equalised when Legwinski pounced from ten yards to drive home the other end, but Birmingham never lost control. They made it 2-1 after 40 minutes when Savage's cross was knocked down by Heskey for Carter to steer the ball home.
And Savage himself secured all three points with a spectacular third after 52 minutes.
The Welsh midfielder received a Heskey lay-off on the edge of the box, chipped it up with his right foot and volleyed home with his left.
Fulham did manage a late reply when Radzinski forced home a Moritz Volz cross just seconds before the final whistle, but it was the visiting fans who went home happy.
